Pakistan offers the best in adventure travel. From the high and lofty mountain peaks of the
Karakorums and Himalayas to the deserts of Cholistan and Tharpakar, Pakistan offers many,
many facets of adventure travel.
By far the most popular and well known adventure travel in Pakistan is trekking. Northern
Pakistan houses a third of the hundred highest mountains of the world. The mountains of the
Karakorums, Himalayas and the Hindukush all offer exciting treks of different grades and
duration. Breathtaking scenery of snow capped lofty mountains (several towering over 8,000
meters), a walk through nature where the mighty rivers flow by you, green pastures and shepherd
life, away even from remoteness, are all awaiting the ardent trekker.
The Northern Areas also offer excellent Jeep Safaris - four wheelers going into the remote
mountain civilisations coupled with day hikes and treks. One of the best Safaris one can have is
to time it with the Shandur Polo Tournament where the age old rivals, Chitral and Gilgit meet for
a horse polo debut - and this is polo in it's best form - the "wild mountain" way.
The Southern Areas of Pakistan offer a different adventure. The deserts in southern Punjab and
Northern Sindh offer archaeological sites, culture and the experience of travelling in modes of
transportation of bygone days. This is where nature and culture are available with the least of
external influence. The Indus Boat Safari is another adventure and probably more a cultural
experience of the life and styles of the desert and the boat people of the Indus River.
In order to offer the world of adventure travel in Pakistan to you, we have rightly called our latest
